Kouki International was founded by Vitharana Arachchige Emantha Udeshika Vitharana Arachchi - Founder, Chairman & Principal - and every lesson we teach is built on the road he walked himself.

At nineteen, our founder travelled to Japan on a student visa - completing Japanese language school and campus education, and learning firsthand that success in Japan takes far more than a visa.
A borrowed classroom
Back in Sri Lanka, Kouki International began with no office and no classrooms of its own - the first classes ran inside another institute in Weyangoda, right as COVID-19 hit.
Earning trust
Through lockdowns and economic crisis, the school kept teaching. Growing trust from students and parents brought the first independent office in Yakkala - officially registered when the founder was 24.
Kouki today
A head office in Yakkala, a branch in Polonnaruwa and a residential language centre in Alawwa (Thulhiriya), with more than 80 students studying across our programmes.

For commercial and operational reasons we do not publicly list our partner institutions in Japan - suitable schools are introduced individually based on each student's background, goals and eligibility.
